アイスクリームトラック Ice Cream Truck

今年も、２週間に一度アイスクリームトラックが我が街にやって来るようになりました。可愛らしいメロディーが聞こえてくると、トラックが近くに来たサインです（笑）。そういえば、昔日本に住んでいたときも、家の近くに時々ラッパを鳴らしながらお豆腐屋さんが来たり、軽トラで焼き芋や竿竹など、いろいろな物を売りに来ていたなあ、と懐かしく思い出しました。このアイスクリームトラックでしか買えないアイスもあって、子どもたちは毎回楽しみにしています。

This year again, the ice cream truck comes to our neighborhood every two weeks. That familiar tune means it’s nearby. It reminds me of when I lived in Japan—vendors used to come by with tofu, roasted sweet potatoes, or even bamboo poles. Some ice creams are only sold from the truck, so the kids always look forward to it.
