Nurmikko after Easter
Easter has safely come to an end this year, and we have returned to our normal routine since yesterday. At our home, there's a pot, 'nurmikko' in Finnish, that my younger daughter made in kindergarten, and it's growing healthily. In Finland, it is a tradition to sow grass seeds before Easter, placing soil and seeds in a small pot inside the house as a beautiful Easter decoration. The weather outside is still cold, with days continuing to be snowy. Flowers and fresh greenery seem to be a bit ahead, but seeing this grass during this time is soothing. However, I am not quite sure what to do with it after Easter ends. The idea of letting it grow wild is a bit daunting, so perhaps it is time for a trim? The house that my daughter drew is starting to disappear...
